More and more people began to realize the quality of food that goes into their bodies, vegetarian lifestyle gets more attention than ever. This is the tips for a good vegetarian. What is a vegetarian? In general, vegetarians are people who choose not to eat meat such as beef, pork, chicken, or fish. However, there are many types of vegetarians with a different philosophy, such as

  • Flexitarian - a vegetarian beginners who occasionally eats meat.
  • Pesci - eat everyday products, eggs and fish but no meat and other poultry
  • Lacto-ovo vegetarian - eat dairy no meat, but eat eggs (Lacto means milk, ovo means egg)
  • Lacto Vegetarian - no meat and eggs, but consuming Lacto (milk products)
  • Ovo Vegetarian - no meat, but eating ovo (egg)
  • Vegan- the real vegetarian (I think). They do not eat any animal products like meat, milk, eggs, gelatin or honey.

The benefits of a vegetarian

Being a vegetarian requires discipline, because we are surrounded by animal products as sources of our food. But a lot of vegetarian options to be on the basis of their commitment to their own.

Improve the overall health

Concern for the environment

Natural Wellness Approach

Food Safety Concerns

Animal Welfare

Weight Loss / Weight Management
Whatever their reasons may be, it is known that people ate vegetable does not suffer from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity as a meat eater, meat eaters tend to have less fiber and too much saturated fat. Animal products contain large amounts of salt, chemicals, hormones can cause blood to retain water, and can cause plaque in the arteries. Thus, a vegetarian lifestyle is far healthier than our modern diet.
However, here are three main challenges for a vegetarian diet

  1. Vegetarian Food Garbage Eaters, Some vegetarians have the same health problems as everyone else, including being overweight because they eat too much instant foods such as soda, cookies, chips, french fries, sweets too much, etc.. Technically, it's not a food animal products, but the food is not nutritious, high-fat foods are not healthy for anyone. Walter Willett, chairman of the department of nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health said: "A healthy vegetarian diet is a lot of vegetables, fruits, nuts and beans have."
  2. Protein Deficiency, we need protein for body growth in maintenance and repair of our cells. Most of the sources of protein in our diet are meat, eggs, fish, milk, etc.. Products that are not part of a vegetarian diet. But, there are other materials that contain vegetable protein, such as peanut butter, tofu, almonds, peanuts, potatoes, spinach. So, just make sure there is enough protein in your diet.
  3. Lack of Nutrition in Our Fruits and Vegetables, eat fresh fruit and vegetables not only the necessary nutrients for your body longer maintained. Nutritional value of fruits and vegetables that we have certainly the last five decades due to decreased levels of minerals in the soil, the mass production of food, genetically modified foods. So, you only need 2 peaches to supply the necessary vitamins a woman in 1951. Today we need to eat 53 peaches on the same terms. This means that drinking spinach juice is not enough! I do not think all people have the time and money to do all things necessary for our bodies to grow. Health supplements are actually needed.

Conclusion

Non-meat diet does not promise that you will stay healthy. But in my whole life as a vegetarian can be healthy for you if you choose a good standard of eating lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, fiber, nuts, and protein with the right supplements for life. And do not forget to modernization in all respects.
